Biography
"Yoga is not about how it makes you look, it's about how it makes you feel."
Mia has always lived an athletic lifestyle, with a strong focus on outdoor activities like telemark and downhill skiing, running, mountain biking, hiking and pretty much whatever else is available to her. Six years ago, she found the perfect balance between physical activity and mental rejuvenation through yoga.
Mia was introduced to yoga in New Zealand in 1999 but didn't take to the practice until she returned back to her native Sweden and tried a few different styles. At that time her interest awakened a desire to explore the practice further.
In Mia’s mind balance is the key of what yoga offers her; the balance and connection of mind, body and spirit.
Mia became a certified yoga teacher in Calgary, Canada, and primarily focuses on Ashtanga and Vinyasa / Flow yoga and teaches a variety of yoga classes at different levels. Mia continues to learn and explore new exciting angles of the practice and finds inspiration in her fellow yogis and yoginis whose presence she is graced with in classes and in every day life.
